The novel “The World Merifier” is inspired by the life and works of Richard Francis Burton (1821-1890), a secret agent, the first British who committed Hajj in Mecca, a translator of Kama-Sutra and “thousands and one night”, a researcher of the source of the Nile and the life of American Mormons.
The action follows in detail the biography of his young years, and sometimes strongly removes from the evidence that has come up with the fascinating story of the protagonist’s life-the “exemplary British at the end of the 19th century”, with the special elegance of the reconnaissance officer and the “beloved truth” of the burden of the White Man through the jungle of India, the sand of Arabia and the wilds of Arabia.
This is awarded the Prize of the Leipzig Book Fair (2007) – an individual approach to the secret of the other, driven by the desire to not even solve it, but to enrich itself through it.
