The young Muscovite Natalya Mironova – the heroine of the novel by the famous Soviet writer Yuri Nikolayevich Avdeenko (1933-1982), – remaining an orphan, comes to work at the shoe factory. Here she acquires friends, faces the first difficulties and meets her future husband – the editor of the factory newspaper Andrei Burov. Having organized the experimental workshop, Natalia becomes the leader in production, but not everything is going well in the family … Roman received a prize at the CCPS competition and the USSR Writers Union for the best work of artistic prose about the modern working class. The film of the same name was shot in 1985 by director Oleg Bondarev, in the main roles: Svetlana Ryabova, Alexander Martynov, Viktor Pavlov.
