The book is dedicated to the unravels in secrets, which has been dominating over Russian history for several centuries. It describes in detail the mechanism of the emergence of the “Legends of the Normans”, about the so -called Varangian conquest, which is still known, mainly what they wanted to say about this and willingly repeat the sources that are interested (and not very friendly to Russia).
The concept of the book itself – the analysis of the manuscript of the Lavrentievsky Chronicle and the circumstances accompanying its creation – is as open as possible for the reader. Who is Rurik, where he came from and whether the Rurikovich problem was played in the actualization of the problem of the Rurikovich and what kind of dynastic considerations were the reason – all this the author sets out with the involvement of a variety of historical materials.
The book will be interesting for readers who are fond of history.
