The new book of a professor of Russian Orthodox University V.N. Trosnikova continues the topic he had begun in the previous publication “God in Russian History” published by our publishing house. The author shows that the baptism of Rus’ at the end of the 10th century was a providing event of world-historical significance, the spiritual consequences of which are far from exhausted. How it will respond in the near future is difficult to predict today, but the author expresses a very interesting assumption on this score. An important component of the narrative is the disclosure of the deepest internal connection between the Ukrainian, Belarusian and Russian peoples who emerged from one baptismal font – a connection that is determined by the Creator himself.
