The novel of the famous Soviet writer Vladimir Dmitrievich Dudintsev (1918-1998) talks about people who have not retreated from their beliefs in the difficult period of the life of our society. The time of action is the fifties of the last century, the heroes are progressive geneticist scientists conducting the struggle with bureaucrats and adherents from science, who later began to be called by Lysenkovites named their head of academician T.D. Lysenko. The film of the same name was shot in 1992 by the director Leonid Belozorovich, in the lead roles: Valery Garkalin, Jeanne Epple, Andrey Boltnev.
