Water Tower Uztm: Lyudmila Tokmeninova

The water tower of Uztm is one of the most famous samples of industrial architecture of Soviet constructivism in the world. The architectural image of the tower was created by the Ural architect Moses Reisher. The tower is planned by the key urban planant in the project of the working village of the Ural Machine -Building Plant (UMZ) architect Peter Orange in 1928. The height of the tower is 35 meters. The book tells about the history of the creation of the tower, its constructive and technological solution, the history of its construction and life until today. The publication is designed to actualize the significance of the project and find possible ways to preserve and transform a significant object of world cultural significance. By its appearance, the publication opens a new book series Archive in which, the editors plan to publish outstanding works of the architecture of the Soviet avant -garde.
