The history of Vladivostok begins in 1858 with the signing of the Aigun Treaty between Russia and the Daitsin state (China). The initiator of this agreement was the governor of Eastern Siberia Nikolai Nikolaevich Muravyov-Amursky. As a result, Russia received seaside territory in the Far East.
In 1859 N.N. Muravyov-Amursky, bypassing the shore of the Gulf of Peter the Great, drew attention to a well-covered bay. The Governor -General proposed to call it a golden horn and ordered it to establish a military post on the shores of the bay with the name – Vladivostok.
By the beginning of the 20th century, the tiny naval post turned into the largest port and naval base of Russia in the Far East.
The next book of the series tells about the history of Vladivostok, his sights, and cultural monuments.
