The book is dedicated to one of the founders of the Russian design school of aviation engine engineering to the general designer Piston (1935-1946) and reactive (1947-1960) aviation engines Vladimir Yakovlevich Klimov and is one of the first complete biographies of an outstanding scientist.
During the Great Patriotic War, 90 % of the USSR fighter aircraft flew at the M-105 mass aircraft created by V. Ya. Klimov. And in the early 1950s, on its first turbojet engines in the K-1, Russia worthyly measured the enemy aircraft in the “cold” confrontation.
The book is based on a deep study of domestic archives, previously not published materials, as well as on the memoirs of people who knew V. Ya. Klimov well. It will be interesting to specialists and a wide range of readers interested in the history of aviation and technology.
