The book was written by a world-famous preacher, doctor of theology, dean of the Holy-Vladimir Seminary in the United States Protopresbyter Alexander Shmeman (1921-1983). It is devoted to the disclosure of the philosophical meaning of the seven weeks of the Great Lent, preceding the holiday of Christian Easter.
