Vanguard and Theater of the 1910-1920s

The focus of the collection of the collection includes the avant-garde ideas of the 1910-1920s and their refraction in the theater, which allows us to consider not only specific theatrical problems, but also the general laws of avant-garde processes: in a certain sense, the theater was a true laboratory of the avant-garde, in which many of its theoretical aspirations were tested and embodied. That is why the heroes of the collection were such figures as Larionov, Shagal, Khlebnikov, etc., whose work was by no means limited to the scene alone. On the other hand, equal heroes of the collection are representatives of the purely theater workshop: Glagolin, Jewish, Les Kurbas, B. Nizhinskaya and others, whose art under the influence of avant -garde ideas has undergone fundamental and decisive changes. The circle of phenomena under consideration is wide: Drama Theater, Opera, Ballet, the Literary Theater and the artist theater, as well as the interaction of all these types of theatrical creativity.
