Camille Flammarion is a famous French astronomer of the 19th century, which wrote a number of popular works on astronomy and life in the “subtle” world. His books were widely fame and continue to be published. The science fiction novel “Urania” is dedicated to astral transformations. A world of mysterious phenomena appears before the reader: the phenomenon of images of dying, clairvoyance, prophetic dreams – all that was so worried about Flammarion.
Contemporaries called him the “enthusiastic singer of Urania”, and the asteroid Ikley, discovered in 1889, was even named after the heroine of the novel.
