The writer Arnold Lvovich Zisserman (1824-1897) was rightfully gained the glory of the householder of the Caucasus: consisting of civil service, he participated in many military expeditions, and executing missionary instructions. In the 1850s, without stopping correspondence from the theater of military operations, he prints in contemporary, Russian Bulletin, Moscow Vedomosti and the Russian Archive of an article by a military-historical nature and memories that are supplemented by notes in Russian antiquity. The work “Twenty-five years in the Caucasus. 1842-1867”, which was first published in 1879, is a vivid example of memoir literature.
