Konstantin Simonov (1915-1979) – Russian Soviet writer, poet, playwright, public figure. But the profession that determined his place in Russian history and literature was the work of a military correspondent on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War. The war became the main event in the life of Konstantin Simonov, as in the life of many people of his generation. And all his work is permeated with the memory of her.
“Twenty days without war” is a story, the main action of which passes far from the front line. But the more acute the breath of war is felt, which has fallen in a huge country. The story formed the basis of the scenario of the film of the same name, shot by Alexei Herman in 1976 and entered the Golden Fund of Soviet cinema.
