The new volume of the “Great Travelers” series – “Traveling around the world to“ Bussoli ”and“ Astrolabia ” – represents the legacy of one of the most famous navigators of the Enlightenment – Jean Francois de Galo, Count de Laperuse (1741-1788). This publication is based on the first translation into Russian of the diaries of a great traveler.
The round -the -world swimming route, prescribed by Louis XVI to the Royal Fleet officer, Jean Francois de Laperuz, surpassed everything that was known until then: France was going to surpass all UK achievements in the geographical discoveries of unknown lands.
