Three sad tiger (1967) is one of the best novels of the so -called Latin American boom, which rightfully standing in a series of such works as the “game in the classics” of Hulio Cortasara and “Hundred Years of Loneliness” by Garcia Markes. This is the only experiment in its kind – experience that the Spanish -speaking literature did not know before. The saga about the night adventures of three friends in the 1958 night pre -revolutionary harbor was entitled by a fragment of absurd tongue twisters, and the true hero of this epic wandering is a brilliant poet who wants to be “his tongue itself.”
In 1965, Kabrera Infante, the largest cinema specialist in the country, the head of the most high -profile cultural magazine of the first stage of the Cuban Revolution “Lunes de Revoluion”, left Cuba forever and forever remained a fierce opponent of the socialist regime. At first, ideological obstacles, and later the impact of historical inertia prevented the “three sad tigers” to appear in Russian earlier.
