The documents presented in this book, the testimonies of Lazarev himself and his contemporaries, expedition participants, not only record events and discoveries – they, like hundreds of illustrations (many of which were made directly during swimming), give the reader the opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of the past, during the great geographical discoveries.
