This text was published in the form of a separate book in 1917. Here L. Andreas-Salome expresses a number of significant ideas and moods both for the intelligent public of that era, and for it itself during this period of life.
In its content, “three letters to one boy” are devoted to issues of sexual taboos and sexual education of children. Turning to the gradually growing child-first to the boy, then to the teenager,-Andreas-Salome tells him about the features of the relationship of the sexes, delicately touching what is considered the secrets of adulthood. She talks about feelings, bodily experiences and unexpected discoveries that are performed by the developing soul of the child. For a teenager, these discoveries are associated with emerging sexual feelings, with changing bodily, with entry into diverse adult relationships. With a philosophical depth, the author reflects on the formation of a person, the importance of love in the origin and affirmation of life.
In this work, the transition to creativity is also peculiarly scheduled …
