Theoretical construction of quantitative sociological research: Yuri Averin

The Textbook “Theoretical Construction of a quantitative sociological research” was prepared on the basis of a general course of lectures “Methodology and methodology of sociological research”, read to the author of the sociological faculty of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. It reveals the logic and principles of constructing a quantitative empirical study from formulating the problem to formulating hypotheses and constructing measuring instruments for their verification. Much attention is paid to the justification of the technology and procedures for theoretical development of certain stages of the program, which underlie the further construction of the methodology of empirical research. For a more successful assimilation of the presented material, theoretical provisions are illustrated throughout the course of lectures by examples from empirical studies conducted by the author.
