The manual reveals modern views on theatrical games and their developmental opportunities for preschool children. Data on the features of various symbolic-modeling types of activities of children with different levels of intellectual development obtained during the experimental study are presented. It is theoretically justified by the use of theatrical games in correctional work with preschoolers with intellectual failure, the main stages of teaching children theatrical games are characterized, and the organization of work on conducting classes in the world of fairy tale is also shown.
