The monograph is dedicated to the history of the Supreme Principles – small specific principalities that existed in the upper pile from the middle of the XIII century. Until the middle of the XVI century. As the heir to the Chernigov principality, these state formations played a significant role in the history of Rus’ of the 13th-XV centuries, and then were among the last specific possessions of the Moscow state of the 16th century.
The work is written on the basis of historical and archaeological sources. A large place is given to issues of the historical geography of the Supreme Principality, especially the Novosilsko -Odoevsky and Volkonsky. The text is complemented by illustrations and maps.
