The anthology of the research of famous travelers and scientists of the beginning and mid -20th century: H. Vandenberg, T.A. Bogdanovich, A.G.Shcherbatov, N.I. Konrad, Nakamura Kooy and Akiyama Kenzoo on the history of Japan from ancient times before the beginning of the 20th century, including the era of the first emperors and the reforms of the Maji era. The first three of the published works, published during the Russian-Japanese War, were supposed to introduce the Russian reader to the history of Japan who were not known to him and culture. Composition Acad. N.I. Konrada became classic. The work of representatives of the Japanese school is also given.
