A year after the Futurological bestseller, the next 100 years, George Friedman again turned to the future – this time much closer.
If the previous book was an epic narrative, which acquired, as it was removed from today, the line of either the comic book or the script of the computer game, then its new book is a completely different kind. In fact, this is not a prognosis, but an analysis of existing global and regional trends, from which conclusions on the logic of the behavior of the main subjects of world politics, primarily the United States in the period 2011-2021.
Friedman often shocks with its brutal frankness, but, to the annoyance of opponents, it often turns out to be right in essence. In this, he is very reminiscent of Dr. House, a character of super popular in the last years of the series. The slogans of the movie hero: “Everyone is lying” and “The main thing – the diagnosis” – fully correspond to the approach of the chapter “Stratfor”. He is deeply alien to the political correctness, which is unusual against the background of a total celebration to his face …
