Based on the extensive archival materials of a number of countries, the life path of one of the brightest leaders of the international socialist movement of Bulgarian Krystya (Christian) of the Rakovsky, prominent centrist leader of the II International, who became a Bolshevik after 1917, is first examined in detail. The authors traced the role of Rakovsky as the state leader of Ukraine – the chairman of its government, his courageous struggle for the true equality of the republic as part of the USSR, against the Stalinsky course for unification, revealed attempts to European Europeanizing the USSR when he was a plenipotentiary in the UK and France. The study expressively tells about the counteraction of the Rakovsky establishment of the Stalinist sovereignty, staying in exile, returning to Moscow to a secondary post and reprisal with it.
