The publication is dedicated to the books of our compatriots, published in the Soviet years abroad of the USSR, for the most part prohibited and spread illegally in the homeland of the authors. One hundred stories of the creation and publication of works that have become a kind of supporting milestones in the literary process are formed in the history of “Tamizdat” – still an insufficiently studied phenomenon of Russian culture of the twentieth century.
The texts of research are accompanied by an illustrative side – publications that have already become a bibliographic rarity, photographs and autographs of their once disgraced, and now recognized authors, documents of the Soviet era.
The book is addressed not only to bibliophiles, historians and literary critics, but also to a wide circle of readers who are interested in the history of Russian literature and culture.
