The book is dedicated to Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky – the great air designer of the XX century, with the name of which is associated with the formation of Russian aviation and the creation of the world’s first multi -engine air ships “Russian Knight” and “Ilya Muromets”. It pays much attention to the Russian period of Sikorsky’s activity, its contribution to the formation and development of all sectors of Russia’s aviation, which was ahead of the leading foreign countries, as well as the main stages of his life and activity in America, the contribution of the designer to the creation of the first transcontinental airliners and world helicopter construction.
