She and he. Love life in memoirs and periodicals of the late XIX – early XX centuries: Elena Lavrentieva

The main theme of the album is “these eternal he and she”, not invented, but truthful love stories of the late XIX – early twentieth century. Readers will also get acquainted with popular plots of cards of that time. Their authors are both our compatriots and foreign artists: the Italian painter L. Belleri, the American illustrator K.F. Underwood, famous cartoonists A. Gilom and Baron F. von Rezniki and others.
“The world is changing, and reading the novels is still an exciting occupation. So I decided to put things in order in my library and collect together the love stories of the late XIX – early XX century, and at the same time – to reconsider the old cards and photographs. Someone will say that it is indecent to read the letters and will be right.
