The first volume of the “Selected works” of Pavel Alexandrovich Greenzer (1928-2009) was released in 2008, even during the life of the author. It included the works of different years on the history of ancient Indian literature. The second volume of “Selected works” P.A. Greenzer was composed mainly of articles on a comparative study of literature and classical Indian (Sanskrit) poetics (“Alancarasastra). These articles have been created and published for many years (from the mid-1960s to 2008). Two articles are devoted to the first Russian translations of the two famous monuments of Sanskrit literature: the translation of N.M. Karamzin of the selected scenes from the drama of Kalidasa “Shakuntala” (1792) and the translation of the religious and philosophical poem “Bhagavadgit” (1788); The poem was translated by a friend of youth N.M. Karamzin – A.A. Petrov. The book also included a translation from Sanskrit from the first three chapters of the Treaty of Dandin “Mirror of Poetry” (“Caviadar”, VII century) and a list of the foundation of scientific publications P.A. Greenzer.
