Nodar Dumbadze (1928 – 1984) – a classic of Georgian literature, a wonderful prose writer, author of poems, poems, children’s works, essays, travel notes. Dumbaze is still one of the most read by the writers of Georgia, his works are translated into many languages. The novel “I, Grandmother, Iliko and Illarion” (1960), partly autobiographical, brought Dumbadze real glory and recognition. In 1963, director Tengiz Abuladze made the film of the same name. Both the novel and the stories included in this book have not been reprinted in Russia for many years.
