The famous criminal author Kurt Aust, the Danish, now living in Norway and writes Norwegian, has become widely known in Europe after the publication of his first book “Judgment Day” (1999), marked by the “For the Best Debut” award. The writer opens the criminal series from the time of the Middle Ages with this book, which included the novel “The Second after God”, awarded the prestigious Norwegian Riverton Award and the Literary Prize “Glass Key” as the best Scandinavian detective in 2003. The books of the series are united not only by time and place of action, but also by the main characters – this is the Danish professor Thomas Buberg and his student, Norwegian Peter Hortten.
In the novel “The Second after God,” the heroes once again investigate a number of mysterious poisonings and mystical deaths that occurred during the secret trip of the Papal Nunius in Lutheran Norway. Then the young Peter with his head was responsible for the safety of the messenger of the pope and his prosperous return to Copenhagen.
