The book reflects semantic, syntactic, morpho-syntactic and lexical aspects of the structure of a negative sentence. A clear difference was made between the syntactic concept of “predicate denial”, that is, denial in the predicate, and the semantic concept of “general denial”. The main syntactic types of predicate denial are identified: global denial, displaced, cumulative and design with predicative negative pronouns. The poorly studied design with a “radical” denial is considered. Of the morphosyntactic problems, much attention is paid to the genetic structure of denial. The limited transformation approach to negation is shown. The advantages of the compositional approach are demonstrated.
The book is addressed to specialists in the field of general linguistics, semantics and syntax of the Russian language, computer linguistics; Reuser teachers, as well as graduate students and students of philological faculties.
