The content and structure of the training manual comply with the requirements of the state educational standard for the course “Russian Language and Culture of Speech” for non -philological specialties of universities. The book aims not only to develop the speech competence of future specialists, but also to the expansion of their ideas about the Russian language at the beginning of the 21st century, about the modern speech situation and the conditions of successful communication. The authors consider the norms, styles and forms of speech of the Russian literary language, give an idea of various types of texts. Particular attention is paid to the most important requirements for a modern specialist who determines the overall level of his culture – the ability to speak correctly, convincingly, expressively, respecting the partner, and control his speech. This is especially true for the vast majority of people who do not have a philological education. The manual includes theoretical material, questions for self -testing, tasks and exercises, as well as a dictionary of terms.
