The book is a reprint of the historical story by V.P. Lebedev “Holy Princess” published in St. Petersburg in 1905. The action of this story unfolds in the 12th century. In the Ryazan principality on the eve of the Batyev invasion. The city of Krasny, first mentioned in the annals under 1147, received a new name “Zaraysk” after Princess Eutherksia, the wife of the Ryazan Prince Fedor, learning about his murder by Khan Batu, so as not to fall into a shameful captivity, with her son rushed from a high tower and “infected” (broke up).
Despite the tragic events, the story is optimistic, because it reads the source of the future victory over the Tatar -Mongol yoke – the triumph of the Orthodox faith, pure love and the indestructible Russian spirit.
