Pyotr Nikolaevich Krasnov (1869-1947) met the First World War in the rank of colonel, commander of the 10th Don Cossack General Lukovkin, and distinguished himself on literally on the first day of the war. On August 1, 1914, he attacked and knocked out the Austrians from the railway station near the city of Lubech and destroyed the bridge. He was awarded the St. George weapons, and in November 1914 he was promoted to Major General. Krasnov began to engage in military journalism and fiction in 1900 in China. The book includes the most famous journalistic and artistic works of Krasnov, dedicated to the events of the First World War.
Boris Andreevich Lavrenev (1891-1959) himself was a member of the First World War and Civil Wars. The story “Strategic Error” is dedicated to the breakthrough of the German linear cruiser “Goeben” in Constantinople in August 1914.
