The monograph is devoted to the analysis of the processes of legalization and consolidation in the Russian economy of such an institutional regime as “capitalism for their own”, within which a market economy model, based mainly on personal relations of representatives of large businesses (oligarchy) and the political elite, has arisen.
This alliance of socio-economic interests, according to the authors, was not capable of, on the one hand, to solve the problem of the legitimacy of private property, illegally assigned in the 1990s, on the other hand, to ensure reliable guarantees of private property rights for all citizens. As a result, the incentives for long -term investments by the market participants were insufficient, and the private business did not become an active agent of modernization.
