For a century and a half, not only literary critics, but also philosophers, culturologists, sociologists, and theologians have been arguing about the great Russian writer F. M. Dostoevsky. The world’s world fame was determined by five novels: “Crime and Punishment”, “Idiot”, “Demons”, “Teenager”, “Brothers Karamazov”. But other works that can be called an overture to the Great Pentateuch are no less interesting, because it was they who laid the foundation for the painful thoughts of Dostoevsky over the “secret man”. In the present publication, the early novels “Double” and “Mr. Prokharchin”, as well as the novel “Player”, are included.
