Count Vladimir Alexandrovich Sollogub (1813-1882) – writer, official, aristocrat and secular man, brilliant storyteller and witty interlocutor, who knew everyone and with whom everyone was friends.
He was friends with Gogol, was friends with Lermontov and Pushkin, who later had a second a second, under the failed duel with Dantes in 1836.
