The cultural essay S.V. Tsvtkova “In search of the Slavic ancestral home” is dedicated to the main issue of our history – “Where did the Russian land come from? Written in the form of travel notes, the book reveals the ways of the formation of the Slavic world and Russian statehood in the context of the development of European civilization and shows the unity of the cultural space of medieval and modern Europe. Comparing the history of different countries, the author concludes that ancient Rus’ originally developed as a state, where international trade was the basis of state and military policy.
The author constantly moves in time and space. First, he is in Brittany – the Armorik of the times of Julia Caesar, with whose troops Venet and Andes fearlessly fight, and makes a bold assumption that it was these two tribes that played a key role in the formation of the Slavic world, giving their names the Slavic tribes. Then it turns out in ancient Izborsk, where he discovers traces of the colossal Celtic influence …
