Alexander Yablonsky – Russian writer, professional musician; Since 1996 he has been living in Boston; The author of the book “Dreams”, Romanov “Abrash” and “President of Muscovy”, the novel “Zh-2-20-32”, stories and scientific articles. Each Yablonsky’s novel does not look like the previous one, but all the works are permeated with certain similar topics and moods, which makes his prose bright and recognizable. Among these counterpoint topics, perhaps the most characteristic-virtuoso, to stop the breath, was written out, the departed “whale” Leningrad of the 60-70s. The heroes of the “Little Roman” are accustomed to the world of this city – in household details and genuine cultural events. They come into contact with really existing people, roam the familiar streets, exist in the atmosphere of a unique city that has forever gone, revived in the book. The novel captures from the first lines and does not let go to the last phrase, leaving the reader a strange mixture of amazement, joy and nicer sadness.
