Immed angel: Nikolai Leskov

In the collection of stories N.S. Leskova (1831-1895) included chosen works in which the author turns to the history of the first centuries of Christianity (“Beautiful Aza”, “Leo of the Elder Gerasim”, “The Tale of the Grisong Diagol”), uses documentary evidence of the Orthodox Russian missionary (“On the edge of the world”), follows the pious literary tradition of his time (cycle “Holy” Holy Stories “).
Nikolai Semenovich Leskov (1831-1895) – for a long and unfairly not recognized classic of the first row of Russian literature. After the 1917 revolution, the writer was declared “reactionary” and “bourgeois -minded.” His works for many years were forgotten. After several decades, attempts have been made in the USSR to publish brief works and individual collections of Leskov’s works, which did not cover the field of creativity of the writer, related to religious and antinigilistic themes.
