“I will live until old age, to glory …” Boris Kornilov did not live to old age: he was killed by the Soviet regime. But his glory was already during his lifetime. He was the most vivid poet of the generation, which was part of literature in the late 1920s. The whole country sang a song from the film “Intelligent” to his words: “The morning meets us with coolness, the river meets us by the wind …” After the death of the poet, this song began to be declared as folk. The first part of the book includes the selected poems and poems by B. Kornilov, as well as newly -earned materials from the archive of the Pushkin house. The second part contains the unique diary of Olga Bergholz 1928-1930 – the period of their marriage with Kornilov (stored in the manuscript department of the Pushkin house), and Boris Kornilov’s letters to Tatyana degree, his first love, and Olga Bergholz. The third part of the book was made up of materials from the personal archive of Irina Basova, the poet’s daughter: the memories of her mother Lyudmila Grigoryevna Bornstein – the second wife of B.
