Daniil Granin’s prose (b. 1919), recognized classic of modern Russian literature, first sounded more than six decades ago. Since then, his name – the author of works about scientific and technical intelligentsia, stories of war, artistic and documentary studies about great scientists, essays about travel, historical novels – remains significant and relevant in the modern literary context. The real edition included the most famous novels by Granin, including the “House on Fontanka”, “Nonfamil”, “Another mark” and “Rain in a foreign city.” They were written in the 1960-1980s, and their through theme unites-memory as a plot-forming motive. The heroes of these works are not philosophers on vocation, but think about the most difficult life issues due to the circumstances. The plot here is closely connected with the time of action, but the tense thought of a person and his purpose leads these texts to the expanses of eternal issues of being.
