The book of the famous Canadian philosopher David Baekkhirst is devoted to discussing the problems of the philosophy of consciousness in connection with that tradition of modern Anglo-American philosophy, which is represented by the so-called “Analytical Hegelianism” (D. McDowell and R. Brand). The book explores the “space of meanings”, the connection and individual freedom and rational grounds based on the inclusion of personality in the cultural tradition, the conceptual nature of all forms of knowledge and experience (including perception and mood), and a thorough criticism of social designism in the psychology and philosophy of consciousness is given. Of particular interest to the domestic reader is the analysis of the ideas of E.V. Ilyenkova and L.S. Vygotsky in the light of modern discussions in analytical philosophy. The book will be interested in philosophers, psychologists, humanities. specialists in the field of cognitive sciences and philosophy of education.
