Essays, sketches, memories: Vasily Vereshchagin

Vasily Vasilievich Vereshchagin (1842-1904)-famous Russian Batalist artist, author of the famous canvas “Apotheosis of the War”. He traveled a lot, visited Europe, the Caucasus, Kyrgyzstan, Siberia, China and India. He was a member of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and the Russo-Japanese War, during which he heroically died with General Makarov during the explosion of the battleship “Petropavlovsk”.
