Academic “Code of Russian Folklore” is the most complete and philologically verified compensation of the texts of Russian traditional folklore. The first series of the arch – “epics”, reuniteing all the notes of the national epic epic of the XVIII -XX centuries, consists of 25 volumes compiled according to the regional principle (each volume reflects the repertoire of a particular geographical region). This method of presenting the material allows you to show the features of each local tradition: the specifics of the interpretation of well -known plots, features of the image of heroes, the system of artistic techniques, the art of storytellers. Inside volumes, the texts are grouped according to the plot-thematic principle. The texts are attached to musical notes of epic tunes. All volumes are accompanied by introductory articles and carefully prepared comments.
