Kazimir Valishevsky (1849-1935) – a famous Polish historian, publicist and writer who worked in France most of his life; Noted by the award of the French Academy of Sciences “For great contribution to modern historiography.” For more than 30 years, he studied the history of Russia of the XVI-XIX centuries. Valishevsky worked in the archives of St. Petersburg, Paris, London, Berlin and Vienna. The result of this work was a series of books “The Origin of Modern Russia”, published in France from 1892 to 1925.
The present publication, containing numerous illustrations, included three books from this series – “Empress Roman. Catherine II”, “Around the Tron” and “Son of the Great Catherine. Paul I”.
