The bright image of Anna Herman is difficult to compare with her tragic fate: even a shadow of despondency is not visible in the photographs of the singer of different years. However, life has prepared the most difficult tests for her. And she sang, sang in her angelic voice, full of compassion and love for people, gaining more and more fans in Poland, Italy, Germany, the USA, the Soviet Union … In our country, Anna Herman was always considered their own, although there was no Russian blood in it. True, her grandmother and mother were born in Russia, and the singer herself perfectly knew the Russian language and loved Russian culture, our songs.
Ivan Ilyichev, the author of books about Anna German, worked in the singer’s home archive in Warsaw and collected a unique biographical material. This also applies to photographs, many of which are first published in this book.
