The greatest Chinese thinker Confucius, one of the recognized teachers of morality, did not write a single book during his life. Once his student, shocked by a wise phrase of Confucius, decided to record it for descendants. Others followed his example, and after the death of the philosopher, the students made up the book of sayings “Lunyu” from their entries, which survived the centuries.
In addition to Confucius sayings, the publication includes Mansi’s translations, extensive additional materials, comments and the earliest and most complete biography of the Chinese sage in the presentation of Sima Qian.
