Dictionary of single -sounding rhymes. Poetic collection of examples: Mikhail Davydov

The dictionary contains equally sounding words and phrases: from homophones (Paris – Paris) to heterograms (I stand at night – clearly pure). The boundaries of the concept of “one -sounding rhyme” are deliberately expanded here so as not to deprive the reader of the pleasure of meeting with such “defective” rhymes as “intent – the mind of a donkey”. The dictionary is built on an alphabetical (and not by assonance) principle, in connection with the inclusion of components in it. The second part of the book – “Poetic Collection of one -sounding rhymes” – consists of poems by different authors (about fifty in total) and illustrates the “theoretical” possibilities of the dictionary with practical examples. The use of single -sounding rhymes is perhaps the most interesting poetic technique. Most often, it is associated with ironic and humorous poetry. The clash of different meanings of the same sounding words in a successful pun can make fun of tears or, at least, cause a smile. This book will interest poets, linguists, will help lovers of the game with the word to hone their skills.
