Sigmund Freud and Karl Jung are two greatest representatives of analytical psychology of the 20th century. Karl Jung was a faithful student of Sigmund Freud and was considered his “throne -off”, but then there was a conflict between them, as a result of which Jung left Freud. The reason for the conflict was a different understanding of the motives of human behavior – Freud believed that it was based mainly by suppressed sexual desires; Jung assigned sexuality a much smaller role. According to Jung, human behavior is more dependent on “archetypal images” and “collective unconscious” than on the sexual energy of “libido”.
