The present edition first publishes the diary notes of the Hero of Socialist Labor, the laureate of the Lenin Prize Oleg Dmitrievich Baklanov (1932), which he led in the cell of the investigative insulator of “Matrian silence” in 1991 – 1993. The Minister of General Mechanical Engineering of the USSR (1983-1988), Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee, supervising defense issues (1988-1991), deputy chairman of the Council of Defense under the President of the USSR (1990-1991), he ended up in a prison in the case of the so-called GKChP in August 1991, trying to confront the treacherous policy of the then head of the country M.S. Gorbachev, aimed at the collapse of the Great Soviet Union.
